2023 Moonrise Birch Trees
This collection of 8x8" paintings was inspired by the evening sunset glow over Lake Leelanau in Leland, Michigan.
Moment by moment the pastel sky and shadows change as the sun sets and the moon rises. Over the summer our kiddos were talking a lot about the creation story and I'm struck by the way scripture says in Genesis 1:5 "and there was evening and there was morning the first day." It's typical to think of our day starting in the morning and evening being the ending/finishing time. It's been a welcome perspective shift for me to think of my day starting in the evening. Starting with rest, and then morning, resurrection, and then activity. I hope there's a new-ness and freshness captured here that inspires your evenings and mornings.
