This collection has come together over a period of several months and the variety of views and subjects reflects the variety found in the Leelanau County landscape. You'll find barns, birch trees, Sleeping Bear Dunes, boats -- I really could have called this collection Land-and-Sea-scapes.
Beyond geographic location, I'm sure you'll see a similar color palette providing unity. However, another less obvious tie that binds them is the time of day. These paintings were inspired by morning light. Serene, breezy, maybe hazy, maybe clear -- full of peace and possibility. It brings to mind the old hymn, "Morning by morning, new mercies I see."
Wish I could hand you a hot coffee and a fresh-out-of-the-oven croissant to enjoy while you look at these!
